Story

Mondelez International Community Champions Steve Davies and Michael Huggins from Bournville are regular supporters for Cerebral Palsy Midlands (CPM) and always seek to support us in their fundraising. Last year in 2018, they managed to help fundraise altogether an incredible £3011.

This year Steve and Michael have selected five charities close to their hearts to support: Macmillan Cancer Support; Cerebral Palsy Midlands; Sandwell Advocacy, Primrose Hospice and Acorns Children's Hospice. Cerebral Palsy Midlands are proud to be be one of their chosen charities. Development Officer Sarah Lilly says;

Steve and Michael are truly incredible people, using their connections at Mondelez, they have set about some incredible challenges in previous years, from cycling on static bikes at Cadbury World, National Cycling Challenges including Riding Across Britain (Yes, they really did cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats in Scotland), hula hooping records have been broken, raffle prize donations and cash matching opportunities. Its fair to say both Steve and Michael have given their sweat, time, energy and to helping our local community, empowering our disabled citizens and our charity to continue the great work that we do here.

Here at CPM we feel that we provide a very unique personal service and give disabled citizens opportunities on a daily basis; from activities such as art tuition, vocal coaching, rock band tuition, wheel chair dance, tai chi, city and guild qualifications, accessing the community, day trips and holidays and more. This has a huge positive impact for Cerebral Palsy Midlands, and we are all extremely grateful that once again Steve and Michael are set to get creative with ideas on how they could support us, with us being one of their five nominated charities.

So, they get a huge thank you from all us here, these Champions really do go above and beyond, we think they deserve super hero capes!
