Commit to walking every day throughout the month of May while exploring the concept of mindfulness in support of positive mental health and wellbeing.
Invite a friend or enjoy a stroll in your own company, overall, walking with mindfulness is at the heart of this challenge, a chance to take in your surroundings and stay present; taking a few calming deep breaths along the way.
We want this challenge to be achievable so we invite you to go at your own pace because we know life can be busy. Here are a few ideas to challenge yourself:
- Set your own daily target distance, depending on your capacity that day.
- 'Up your steps from the day before.
- Challenge yourself to a 20-minute walk a day, who knows, once the trainers are on you may end up venturing further.
£6 could support someone to take part in local groups and activities
£13 could provide peer support for people experiencing drug or alcohol problems
£20 could pay for a volunteer and an isolated person to go on an outing together for example swimming or to a museum.
