Story
Beards for Bucks is a fun and exciting fundraiser where law enforcement officers are allowed to grow facial hair for the month of October to support our work. Officers depend on the generosity of the community to make a donation to support their Razorless for a Reason cause. A fun and easy way to support law enforcement and your local CAC!
Helping child victims of physical and sexual abuse and their families requires an approach that addresses the physical, emotional, and legal dimensions of abuse. It also requires a coordinated victim centered response from expert professionals to reduce stress throughout the investigation and intervention process. We work in partnership with all the necessary agencies and specialists to coordinate a plan of action to provide high-quality, specialized services for abused children and their families to heal, survive and thrive.
For example, in early June of 2021, a case came in as emergent status to the Concord PD. Due to the close proximity of the last assault, the decision was made for the team to come to the Merrimack County Advocacy Center immediately for the interview. Members from the Advocacy Center, Police Department, and County Attorneys Office made special arrangements so they could come in on a Saturday for this child. After the interview, the family support assistant continued to work in tandem with the Victim/Witness Coordinator at the County Attorneys Office to offer services for the family as the case went through the court process. The Offender recently pled guilty to several felonies, has a lengthy prison sentence, and will register as a Sex Offender for the rest of his life. This is just one of 318 cases handled by the Merrimack AC last year.
