Story
We provide crucial support to men experiencing suicidal crises, offering a lifeline of hope for the future. Our services are available free of charge to suicidal men in the North East, within a safe, friendly, and therapeutic environment where they are treated with care and respect. Our mission is to assist men aged 18 and above in crisis by ensuring rapid access to focused, one-to-one therapy aimed at understanding and overcoming their suicidal thoughts.
Our team of trained, professional therapists quickly addresses the core issues of a man's crisis and helps him find solutions. We offer personalised, person-centred interventions consisting of six to eight face-to-face sessions with experienced therapists at our centres in North Tyneside and Northumberland. Men can self-refer or be referred by professionals, friends, or family members.
We specialise in providing talking therapy to men who reach a crisis point due to significant life events such as relationship breakdowns, financial troubles, or bereavement. While Anxious Minds does not offer long-term mental health or psychotherapeutic support, we provide emotional assistance through the crisis period and help men connect with any necessary long-term support services. We complement, rather than replace, existing statutory services by collaborating closely with the local NHS and other services to ensure appropriate referrals and ongoing support for the men who seek our help
