Story
A Country in Crisis
Afghanistan has been ravaged by conflict for decades. Over the last few days, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced, leaving their homes with nothing due to the current crisis.
Displaced families are now arriving in camps in urgent need of food, water, shelter and with the ongoing pandemic, hygiene kits to keep safe.
The entire country was already facing it's worst droughts in decades in terms of geographic scale.
14 million people in Afghanistan are facing a food crisis. Your donations are desperately needed to help save lives in Afghanistan, please donate now.
Islamic Relief is on the ground.
Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for over 20 years, we were one of the few aid agencies to continue working in Afghanistan during the military incursions, and our Kabul, Balkh, Jalalabad and Bamyan offices remain open today.
Recently, our teams on the ground have distributed 13,061 food packs to the most vulnerable families in Kabul, Nangarhar, Balkh, Bamiyan, and Kapisa provinces. Qurbani meat distributions to over 10,000 families have also been carried out.
Our Covid-19 response in Afghanistan has reached over 308,514 people, and we continue to raise awareness and support women facing gender-based violence.
Help us to continue our life-saving work in Afghanistan.
