Story
SAVE OUR CENTRE - WE NEED YOU: The impact of the Covid pandemic has resulted in a large financial deficit for the Lyndhurst Community Centre which is run by a charitable trust and dependent on donations, grants and regular paying users at the centre. The loss of regular income during the forced lockdown closures and the reduced number of returning users has resulted in income and bookings at less than half of the pre-Covid levels. In addition, a leaking roof resulted in unexpected expense and a leaking water pipe in the Linden Hall caused disruption and delay to the reopening of the centre. Consequently, the Lyndhurst community is at risk of losing this valuable asset.
Since the 1960s, the Lyndhurst Community Centre has provided facilities for meetings, training, recreational and leisure activities to improve the lives of those living in the local community. It continues to serve this purpose today, not only in Lyndhurst, Emery Down and Bank but in the wider community too. It is an important community resource and the redevelopment of the library space presents new opportunities for the centre and its users. However, the centre needs funding to remain open, so that these opportunities can be realised and it can thrive again and for years to come. It urgently needs the help of the people it serves to keep its doors open, so please support your Community Centre by making a donation.
