Story
Lymm and district residents have opened their doors and their hearts to support refugees from war-torn Ukraine. The Lymm & District Ukraine/ Support Group has been created as a forum for sharing information and resources for those local people who wish to help.
The group is driving projects and activities to support the hosting initiatives, settlement and integration of incoming refugee families in the Lymm and local area.
The group is also working with other organisations in the region to assist their work by directing funds, resources and expertise to them.
This fundraising campaign has been set up to accept local financial donations. It will used by the group for the provision of support services and resources for Ukrainian refugees during their settlement and integration into the area. This may cover items such as clothing, language classes, administrative and legal support, school integration and uniforms, job and career support, and social classes for all ages.
A separate campaign has been set up to fund supplies, particularly care packages and medical, which will be directed to local agencies working on the ground in the Ukraine.
The Humanitarian Aid fund can be viewed at: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/LymmUkraineHumanitarianAid
Any surplus funds not directed to Lymm & District refugee projects may be donated to other local support projects working to assist the Ukraine. Beyond that, any surplus would go to The British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
This fund is managed by Lymm Sanctuary Hub & Business Centre who are a registered Lymm-based charity.
