Story
The offseason of 2020 has been one filled with hope, uncertainty, and adversity. As the returning Knights got off to a STRONG start in the weight room (with better turnout than all previous seasons), the Covid-19 pandemic put an abrupt halt to the team's progress in the strength and conditioning of our football athletes. Although our students sadly missed out on many of the end of the year events and festivities - as well as opportunities to improve as athletes and teammates - they returned to the program in great shape on July 6th, their first day of practice.
The energy and excitement of our kids upon their return, coupled with their coachability and positive attitudes, has been nothing short of remarkable - and encouraging. As coaches we constantly ask for kids to respond to adversity. If their efforts this offseason - before and after lockdown - are any indication, the 2020 football season should be an exciting one for players, coaches, and fans!
With that said, we hope you consider helping our program reach its goal of raising $10k to support our young men. Your donation will help us cover the costs of the following:
- In-season injury prevention and recovery program with Indiana Physical Therapy: $2,000 total ($500/month)
- Replacements for 45 helmets over 2020-2022 seasons: $6,000 per season ($400/helmet x 45 helmets = $18,000 over next three seasons)
- Annual paint job for all helmets: $1,500 ($15/helmet x 100 helmets)
- COVID-19 face masks: $550 ($5.50 x 100 masks for all in football program)
- Hopeful Goal: New reversible practice jerseys: $6,000 ($60/jersey x 100 jerseys) **Will purchase once all goals above are reached**
Minimum goal for 2020: $10,050 (excluding additional costs that add up during season such as mouthpieces, extra large helmets, uniform replacements)
