Leonard Cheshire is developing a brand new service offering specialist support to people in Northern Ireland with an alcohol-related brain injury (ARBI) and we need your help.

ARBI describes the damage caused to the brain as a result of chronic alcohol consumption - this can significantly impact a person's ability to perform normal day-to-day activities.

Our residential treatment centre will be the first of its kind throughout Ireland - you'll be able to find our Leonard Cheshire service in Belfast by March 2020.

Chronic alcohol consumption is estimated to cost Northern Ireland £900 million each year including £250 million of our health spending. Northern Ireland's Chief Medical Officer has warned that alcohol misuse is one of our greatest public health issues. ARBI is a reversible condition and up to 75% of patients can make partial or complete recovery if given personalised treatment and care. Such support can really make a difference to the lives of many in Northern Ireland, achieving better patient outcomes, cost savings and significant reductions in recurring hospital admissions.
