Story

The Lincoln Lion Committee is requesting donations from the Alumni in helping with the acquisition of an iconic Lion statue to be installed/placed on Lincoln's main campus.

The dimensions of the Lion statue are as follows: approximately 8 feet high, 12 feet long, weighs 1600 pounds, and is made of cast iron/bronte. A photograph of the lion is available and will be presented to the alumni.

The cost of the Lincoln Lion is $25,000. A select group of alumni have already donated $8,300, which allowed the University to make a down payment on the Lion. The remaining balance to complete the purchase is $18,000.

Additional costs associated with the acquisition of the Lion include shipping from Rhode Island, site design, installation on campus and a bronze plaque to be placed under the lion.

We are confident that a crowdfunding campaign asking at least 500 alumni to give $100 each will allow us to meet our goal.
