Story
The LTCFC charity was set up in 1928 and its primary aim has been to support, help and relieve children disadvantaged by reason of health or financial circumstance; and children deprived of parental care.
The charity also gives financial help and support for the purchase of medical, communicative and recreational equipment to schools, hospitals, hospices and individual families in the London and Greater London Areas.
As part of the London Taxi Drivers' Charity for Children's (LTCFC) fundraising activities for 2019, a group of 15 riders, comprising LTCFC Committee Members, fellow taxi drivers and friends will be attempting the 55 mile London to Brighton Cycle Ride on Sunday 15th September 2019.
As most of the participating Committee Members and their associates haven't ridden a bike since their teenage years, the 55 mile course may prove challenging, but they are all determined to complete it.
It must be said that there are varying levels of fitness within the group, but they are now all committed to their individual training plans and can be found most Sunday mornings energetically cycling (or should I say huffing and puffing) around Central London and the Greater London area.
The aim is to raise a minimum of £5000 to put towards the overall cost of the charity's Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which is held every January at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
This annual event treats over 600 children disadvantaged by physical/mental impairment or domestic/parental circumstance to a fun filled day that they will never forget.
If you would like to sponsor our cyclists to help fund the childrens party, please donate today. Thank you.
