Story
Winter really has closed in on the Sanctuary, with frost, wind and wet, wet, wet. For the well-being of our remarkably resilient horses, we need enough food and medication to care for them properly. Making sure they have the right food and supplements - optimising their dietary requirements - is essential to keeping them healthy and happy.
Please be generous and help us reach our target and enable us rehabilitate those former racehorses who need that extra time and care to prepare for a new career and a home for life.
Love and TLC there is aplenty from the team of dedicated staff and wonderful volunteers, but that is not in itself enough. We need to be able to feed all our horses properly to cope with the conditions they face: good quality hay, individually tailored rations, carrots, and those all-important Polos.
Feed alone will cost us £5,000 through the hardest three months of Winter: please, please help us reach this target.
Winter can be a tough time for horses, so if these wonderful animals have a place in your heart, please donate generously to help us look after the ex-racehorses in our care and ensure they have the food and medication they need and deserve.
All the horses benefit from time spent outdoors and it is important to keep our paddocks in top condition in all weather conditions, the work of repairing fences is ongoing and the price of posts and rails has rocketed in recent months making quite a dent in our reserves. Please donate to help us keep our horses safe
