Story
As a small company interested in big ideas, Incite works in partnership with the regions diverse communities to develop and celebrate arts and culture and build local capacity through engagement with the arts.
Working with Indigenous people, youth, multicultural groups and artists with disability, Incite sweeps art into the heart of participants and audiences alike; connecting marginalised communities and giving expression to powerful feelings of belonging.
Incite began its life in 1998 as the Alice Springs Youth Arts Group, formed in response to a locally identified need for a vehicle to express young peoples stories in a valid, contemporary cultural context. The group then became an incorporated not-for-profit association and broadened its scope to include all who face barriers to arts engagement.
Incite has been advocating for the disability arts sector for over 20 years. Through long-term practice, consultation and partnerships, Incite has become the peak organisation in Alice Springs in this sector, committed to accessible programs, events and venues.
