Story
The Thornton Education Trust (TET), the new charity championing world-class architectural education for children and young people, is launching a major programme of awards - the Inspire Future Generations Awards - to recognise those who are introducing future generations to architecture and the built environment. We need your help to create a prize fund for the Inspirational Informal Learning category winner.
Young peoples voices are often excluded from urban design discourse and there are few opportunities to develop their creative design skills and knowledge to contribute to the debate. To create better places and spaces, we need more built environment professionals and organisations to commit long term to engaging children and young people in architecture and urban design.
The IFG Awards series will recognise outstanding built environment professionals and educationalists who have made a difference in showing how children and young people can benefit from engaging in architecture and urban design.
And arguably one of the most significant ways this happens is when individuals make an incredible effort and create brilliant activities to inspire children to take the first steps in realising their own creativity. Whether they are an architect, a community engagement practitioner, teacher or education project worker - this award is for people who go this extra mile.
We are grateful for all contributions towards a prize fund for the individual that goes on to deserve and win this important award.
