Story

As we near the end of another difficult year, why not finish it on a high note by doing something positive to raise money and really make a difference to people's lives?

The Pandemic has affected millions of people including those people we support. In fact our Survey found 71% found their mental health had worsened. In the first 3 months of the Pandemic we saw a 38% rise in suicide related calls.

The money you raise will help Burning Nights CRPS Support continue to provide vital information, support and training to patients and loved ones affected by a painful condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS); to host great supportive events that can be accessed by all members of the family and to give them skills to help them cope with CRPS whether they are a patient or family member.

Without the support of Burning Nights CRPS Support and help from the community, a lot of people may not be here today. Its good to know youre not alone and have someone to give advice about something that myself and so many others suffer from - Andrew, CRPS patient

Between 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021, donors like you help to support 4,266 individuals affected by CRPS. We appreciate the need for a community, hope and support which is what is at the heart of our Christmas campaign. Sadly we know that Christmas can be a very difficult time for thousands of people including those affected by CRPS.

The Pandemic really highlighted to Burning Nights CRPS Support that there was an urgent need for mental health support services and a need for friendship. In February and March 2021 we finally launched our CRPS Counselling Service and our virtual Befriending Service. Both of the Services have received plenty of support from people wanting to take part.

In the words of one of the clients going through the Counselling Service:

The service has genuinely changed my life for the better. For the first time since being diagnosed with CRPS, I felt truly listened to and understood. I would recommend it to anyone. The amount of counselling is amazing. My counsellor has set me up for life with the skills and understanding she has taught me. I cant verbalise how much good the service has done for me.

Unfortunately CRPS does not take a day off even at Christmas. Our counsellors give patients and families the tips and ideas to help them cope, learn to self-manage their condition, understand how to lower anxiety and improve their overall mental health. Give the gift of a CRPS counselling session and donate £25.

For those on our Befriending Service, the weekly call to a friendly, listening ear is so important. It is something that our clients look forward to every week. Its a focal point every week where they can talk about anything they want to, whether its about films, gardening or their families. Why not give the gift of a befriending phone call by donating £9?

What Your Donation Could Do:

- £3 every month coukd help us continue our work raising awareness of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

- £8 could answer a call to our Support Helpline, providing someone with vital support and information about Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or to provide a friendly ear

- £12 could help us get reliable info to those who need it online, in print and via our helpline

- £20 could run our online peer support groups for one month, helping people connect with others so they feel less alone

- £25 could pay for a 1 hour counselling session

- £70 could provide 2 places at our annual national conference for a CRPS patient & a loved one or caregiver

- £150 could keep our digital support services running for 1 year enabling us to support the CRPS community. Donors like you helped to support over 2,100 people using our digital services

- £250 could keep our Support Helpline manned and running for 12 months

- £500 could provide a full course of counselling of 20 hours as part of our CRPS counselling Service

We are trying to raise £5,000 this Christmas overall to enable us keep providing our CRPS counselling service for another 12 months with a minimum of 4 counsellors.

- Volunteer your time and skills

- Fundraise for Burning Nights CRPS Support

- If youre a small business why not give a % of your sales for a day or a particular item. Sign up with Work For Good

- Send eCards & donate the cost of the stamps through DontSendMeACard
