Story
At the start of lockdown people who were sleeping rough or staying in night shelters in Liverpool were offered accommodation in hotels. Many people took the opportunity to improve their physical and mental health, address addictions and start planning for the future.
Throughout the housing and homelessness organisations in Merseyside there is a real wish to end homelessness for good. Housing Associations have identified properties and people have already started moving in.
However most are moving into unfurnished properties, with no furniture, kitchen equipment or bedding. We want to ensure that people being rehoused have the right start in their new homes so we are now fundraising to buy the basics that everyone needs to turn a house in to their home. A furniture pack includes a bed and bedding, wardrobe and bedside table, a sofa, table and chairs, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery, cooker and fridge freezer.
Your donation really will help people settle into their new home and start their new lives. Thank you.
How your donation could help:
£10 could buy a kettle
£25 could buy a new duvet set
£75 could buy a dining table & chairs
£150 could kit out the kitchen with crockery, cutlery, pans & utensils
£300 could buy a new fridge freezer
