Home-Start stopped our lives falling apart

Dad of one Sam Kerman explains how Home-Start saved his family from reaching crisis point.

My wife Vic has a number of health issues that limit her mobility. In the past year, shes only been out of the house two or three times. Its devastating for her. I dream about the day I can watch her walk down the road with our son Leon.

Without Home-Start wed be in an absolute mess Ive no doubt about that. Im convinced having Home-Starts support has saved me from depression, and has helped Vic manage better at home.

Whatever the weather we know Heather from Home-Start High Peak will do anything to support us. Leon loves to see Heather from the doorstep, and its of great comfort that shes in our lives. Only the other day Heather sent an activity kit and a couple of books to help keep Leon occupied. Leon was delighted. He doesnt have many books, so was really excited about reading some new ones.

Home-Start support has reached so many parts of our family life. From emotional support, to practical support, to helping Leon grow and develop, our lives have been enriched by Home-Start.
