Story
The young people we support are fleeing war, persecution and bereavement. Many have experienced traumatic events that make it hard to cope with day-to-day life. It is now even more difficult for them to understand the situation they find themselves.
Many are here on their own without existing support networks and are suffering from destitution, homelessness and without recourse to public funds. A lot have mental health needs and are living in isolation without access to Wi-Fi, phone credit or basic equipment to communicate with the outside world.
We are particularly worried about the physical, psychological, and social well-being of our young people during this time and feel that it is only right for us to put our experience of grant making to best use during this pandemic.
We will offer emergency grants and essential supplies to those facing the most extreme hardship and isolation. Hardship payments will be for items such as food, medication, toiletries, phone credit, and emergency travel, as well as packages of Wi-Fi, mobile data and equipment that will enable young people to maintain contact with us and other key support services.
We are appealing for donations so we can help as many young people as possible.
£20 will pay for a young person's food for a week
£10 will pay for a sim card with data on it for a month.
£30 will pay for a cheap smart phone
Thank you for anything you are able to give during these unprecedented times.
