Story

Our Campaign

There's no underestimating the huge toll Covid-19 has had on child mental wellbeing globally. It is Happy Space's mission to protect the minds of tomorrow. With the current climate of intense uncertainty, it is more important than ever that we help schools prioritise student mental health now.

Cue our new campaign: Happy Space for All. We are aiming to raise £20,000 to provide our invaluable mental wellbeing resources to 400 of the most in need schools across the country. This campaign will run from October 10th until December 10th, giving us just two months to reach our target - will you help us?

Happy Space for All aims to support children from lower socio-economic backgrounds by providing students with our mental wellbeing guidebooks and teachers with an accompanying 7 week lesson plan. We are targeting the most vulnerable schools across the UK, calculated by the percentage of free school meals provided at the schools.

This is only possible with your support. For around every £2.50 we make, we can provide another student and school with our resources. Charges include printing, postage and packaging.

So you can ensure your money is being put to the best use possible, we will publish a short report detailing exactly how the grant has been spent and the locations the books have been delivered to - accompanied by some quotes and mini case studies to indicate some of the truly wonderful work you are supporting.

Please share our mission and support us in reaching our goal. Mental wellbeing resources should be available for all and we want to make that happen.

About Happy Space

Happy Space is a preventative mental wellbeing charity. We aim to provide students with a wellbeing toolkit in order to help protect the minds of a future generation. Happy Space UK seeks to achieve this predominantly by delivering guidebooks to students in transitional stages, including year 6 and sixth form. Happy Space UK also provides talks for students, partners with other mental health service providers, hosts events and carries out in-house research.

Happy Space has undertaken research, including interviewing mental health professionals, academics and university wellbeing services across the UK. We learned that there are some aspects of everyday living that can prove crucial to the prevention of student mental health issues. These aspects seemed to repeatedly fall into the categories of food, finance, mind, body and art. We use these five key "pillars of wellbeing" as the framework for our student guidebooks and accompanying lesson plans.
