Story
Jamie Friend, Staffordshire's High Sheriff, is the Queen's representative in the County for all matters relating to the Judiciary and the maintenance of law and order. Much of the High Sheriff's year is therefore spent supporting and encouraging the voluntary and statutory organisations who work in this area plus the Crown and Magistrates' Courts, the Police, Prison and Probation Services.
Jamie from near Loggerheads, manages the family's dairy farm and has supported various voluntary groups across the area for many years. He has a keen interest in nature conservation and will be promoting the enhancement and restoration of the wetlands and waterways by the Transforming The Trent Valley initiative by completing a sponsored Tour of the Trent by walking, cycling and hopefully canoeing along the course of the River Trent through Staffordshire.
This tour of the Trent Valley will raise funds for The Community Foundation for Staffordshire's High Sheriff Fund. These funds will then be awarded to local organisations working to support their communities later this year. Please consider supporting this campaign to raise funds in support of those organisations working to improve our local communities.
