Story
Following the huge success of the challenge last summer, WeSeeHope's HOPE10,000 is BACK, and we would love you to join us!
From 17th May - 30th June 2021 help us cover 10,000km, which is the average distance from the UK to the five countries we work in - Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
As the pandemic continues to have an immediate and long-term socioeconomic impact on the vulnerable children and families we work with in Southern and Eastern Africa, we are aiming to raise £10,000 to help best support them throughout this time and beyond.
It's super simple to take part and help us reach our target - here's how:
1) Complete your kilometres - whether it's a 2km catch up stroll with a friend, a 5km lunchtime jog, or a 60km weekend cycle.
2) Log your distance and make a donation to this page - why not donate £1 per every km you cover?
Alternatively, you can pledge to do a distance over the month, either donating once you have completed your challenge, or fundraising along the way, by either:
- Sharing this campaign page with your family or friends, or
- Setting up your own fundraising page by clicking "Start fundraising" on the right of this page.
For some inspiration of how many km's to complete and donate, please see below:
- Running 5km and donating £5 could train a guardian from our Child Headed Households Programme in COVID-19 prevention measures so they are able to protect the household they care for.
- Walking 20km and donating £20 could train a community volunteer from our Child Rights Programme to sew face masks and make hand sanitiser.
- Cycling 50km and donating £50 could train a Kids' Club Committee how to make soap from low cost and locally available materials, enabling them to set up an income generating activity for the club.
***If you are supporting someone else's challenge, you can donate here on the main page or to their personal JustGiving page, and please remember to let us know who you're supporting!
