Story
DRC Crisis Relief Fund
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has been plagued with decades of war. Hands at Work has been serving in DRC communities devastated by this unrest since 2006. The North Eastern province around the city of Goma has continued to experience the constant threat of rebel attacks and war. The level of violence has increased over recent months affecting communities where Hands at Work serves, resulting in the children and families in communities we serve having to flee. The HAW team in Goma, are responding to this crisis, together with faithful Care Workers in each of our communities and are seeking to reach and support the most vulnerable families. This escalating instability around Goma is highlighting the reality that families in the DRC face, with a daily struggle for survival.
Would you partner with Hands at Work to bring support and stability to the communities in the DRC? The reality of what is happening around Goma is a glimpse at the widespread vulnerability and instability of this war-torn country. Be part of helping us bring relief to the most vulnerable children and communities impacted by this crisis and others like it.
Hands at Work serves in over 60 communities across 8 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, where HIV/AIDS, poverty and numbers of children orphaned are at overwhelming levels and support structures are very low. Your generosity will help not only to bring relief in the aftermath of crises like this, providing support where there is greatest need, but will serve also to build greater resilience in some of Africa's poorest communities.
