Despite the challenges of COVID and the lack of fundraising activities in the past two years, Green Cottage RDA successfully restarted weekly riding lessons for children with special needs and disabilities last September. Although the restart proved challenging for everyone involved, not least our young riders who had missed 18 months of riding therapy, we were thrilled and so proud to win the Inter County competition in July of this year!

For our riders, their weekly lessons provide valuable benefits including increased confidence, improved mobility, core, and muscular strength. We provide our services at no cost, relying on donations, sponsorship and legacies, plus the generosity of our volunteers who freely give their time, and our hosts Green Cottage Riding Centre. Our costs continue to rise - upkeep of the ponies, special equipment, insurance etc. and we now urgently need to boost our funds to enable us to continue the important work we do in our community.
