Story
The National Garden Scheme has been raising funds for vital nursing and health charities since 1927 through the opening of thousands of exceptional private gardens. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our garden owners, volunteers and visitors we made an annual donation of £3.11 million in 2022. As the single largest funder of Marie Curie's work, the longest standing partner of Macmillan Cancer Support and a key funder for Hospice UK, Carers Trust, Parkinson's UK and the Queen's Nursing Institute our ongoing donations have a significant impact on their operations.
And now we are asking everyone to get involved, to gather friends, family and neighbours for a garden get-together, combining a shared love of nature and outdoor spaces with the joy of spending time with others, whilst raising funds for some great causes. A perfect combination!
It doesn't matter whether your garden is large or small, or even if you have no garden at all! Last year our Great British Garden Party hosts held plant sales, hosted afternoon teas, had picnics in the park and drinks as the sun went down. You can do it your way - the important thing is to take part and get involved.
Whether you have signed up and organised your own fundraising event or are simply donating to the cause your donation will make a real difference and every penny counts. So thank you for your generous support.
