Venture Arts Covid-19 Emergency Fund

Team Venture Arts was due to run 10k to raise £10k at the Great Manchester Run, which was cancelled due to Covid-19. Instead, we launched an Emergency Fund to help our learning disabled artists to keep creating art at home and to combat isolation.

Story

Venture Arts is a charity which works alongside learning disabled artists to create exciting new work across illustration, photography, animation, textiles, ceramics, painting and much more. We deliver over 1,700 in-house visual art sessions each year for people of all ages. Our studio is a friendly and inspiring environment where our team of professional artist tutors (and volunteers) support participants to discover and develop their artistic identity. Their work is showcased in high-profile galleries and venues across the UK and internationally.

We also run work and volunteering schemes for learning disabled people in culture and education, and support talented learning disabled artists to develop their careers.

We have to fundraise constantly to cover running and equipment costs. Right now, through our Emergency Fund, we are raising money to make urgent, significant changes to our studio to enable us to re-open safely and as soon as possible in response to official guidelines during the pandemic. We're inviting you to help us raise the funds we need to do this. Thank you.

Without Venture Arts, my life would have been nothing. Horace Lindezey
