Fund for Annie

Annie Scott, Annie Williams to many, very sadly died on 1st June; her husband and Texas-based family were at her side. All our thoughts and prayers are with her family and her many, many rowing friends at such a difficult time.

Ross Rowing Club was such a big part of Annie's life and she was loved so so many fellow rowers at the club. To honour Annie's name, we have set up a 'Fund for Annie'.
Your donation will go towards one of Annie's big passions; helping and supporting more women and girls to row at Ross Rowing Club. We want this to start a trend in other rowing clubs to encourage more women and girls to row across the country. Love Rowing share this passion. They are British Rowing's Charitable Foundation on a mission to make rowing and it's transformational benefits, more accessible to all.
Just a few of the tributes to Annie below:
'She was admirably, unyieldingly, political. Feminism and socialised medicine were two great drivers. Despite experiencing some great technology here in the USA I know if she had one message to impart while she has your attention it would be Defend the NHS. No apologies. " Lewis Scott
"We lost such a sparkling and special soul. We've lost our biggest supporter because lets face it; no matter who you were; she was your biggest fan girl, we've lost our most welcoming and encouraging smile and we've lost a vital part of us all"
"Rage on Annie. Miss you desperately"
"What an incredible women. Our go too literary guru, your incredible commitment to yourself and cheerleading others"
"Heartbroken at the loss of my amazing friend. One of the biggest hearted people I've ever met, and a cracking rower to boot. Annie was one of the coaches in my novice 8+ back in the day, always encouraging us and helping us to laugh at our mistakes.
Over the years she showed me such kindness. I had the best quad outing of my life with her last summer and our racing starts might not have got us to Tokyo (it was a close run thing, though, right, girls? ) but they gave us life."
