Story
Many of us would normally make preparation to attend the Masjid on Fridays to listen to the Khutbah, to take benefit from the advice of our Imam and use the opportunity to offer sadaqah on such a blessed day.
What is the significance of Yawm-ul-Jum'uah?
As reported in the likes of Sahih Bukhari and Al-Tirmidhi, Muhammed (SAW) advised that the best day in which the sun has risen is the Day of Jumuah, it was the day in which Adam (AS) was created, the day when was entered into paradise and the day he was taken from it. The Day of Jumu'ah will also be the day on which the Day of Judgement will take place.
Although Masjids around the world have closed its doors to the public due to the current crisis, we should celebrate the Day of Jumu'ah at home with our families. Spend time remembering Allah, through reciting the Qur'an and offering prayers. We should also continue to make our Friday donations to maximise the blessing of Jumu'ah.
Allah (SWT) mentions in the Quran: "O you who believe! When the call is proclaimed to Prayer on Friday hasten earnestly to the remembrance of Allah, and leave off business. That is best for you if you but knew." [Surah Al-Jumu'ah, verse 9]
