Here's why raising funds for Five Acres Safe & Healthy Kids Back To School is so important:

With the recent announcement that Los Angeles schools will not be open for in-person instruction, back to school looks a little different this year.

Five Acres is prepping and planning for our residential staff to step in to manage our children's distance learning. We understand the challenges parents and caregivers like our essential workers are facing in having to guide, tutor and support children and youth as we start the new school year.

What does this mean? We'll not only be providing the after school enrichment for our Five Acres' children, we will be the virtual classroom aides in partnership with teachers to ensure they have academic success. Our residential team is gearing up to review the instruction, provide tutoring and manage the teacher expectations, all with the same scarce resources. We can't do it alone.

We need your support to help with school supplies, additional meals and snacks and additional resources to assist our residential children, our community families and our foster-to-adopt families that are in need. These children have already had traumatic experiences in their lives. Five Acres wants to make sure that they are safe and healthy during this unusual time that we are all in together.
