Story
Father Hudson's Care works across the Archdiocese to help people in need. Each year Parishes support our work through a second collection. This year, when your support is needed more than ever, many people are unable to attend Mass in person, so we are collecting donations online as well as during services.
This year Father Hudson's Care and the many projects that we support have continued to work during lockdown, finding new ways to work and where needed expanding services. Tabor House provided their tailored, person-centred support to many more guests than normal after they temporarily moved to a hotel during lockdown. Young at Heart expanded their telephone and online befriending services when groups were closed. Brushstrokes was able to deliver food parcels and telephone advice in the face of increasing need to enable people to social distance. At our base in Coleshill, St Catherine's, St Joseph's and St Vincent's were able to continue providing caring support to people who were unable to see their families and enabled and encouraged online interactions wherever possible.
These are just some of the stories that have emerged from our projects during this difficult year. Father Hudson's has supported people in need in the Archdiocese for more than 100 years. With the support of Parishes and their Parishioners, we can continue to be there for people in need
