Story
We are raising money for our Project playground! Staff, PTFA and pupils are all working together to raise as much money as we can in order to transform our playground into something quite spectacular for our children. Our current playground is very dull, sparse and uninviting our children deserve much more. It is well known that playing outside helps children to develop their learning abilities. By installing the new gym, AstroTurf and play equipment, our children can access learning through play, which is a fun way of helping children to learn new information and skills. The benefits of outdoor play are extensive. Children develop self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem. They develop collaborative-working and communication skills. It provides positive health benefits both physically and mentally and assists gross and fine-motor development.
Our target figure overall is £20,000. We hope to achieve this amount via Grants, Children and Staff sponsored events and charitable donations from the local community and businesses. As Edenthorpe Hall does not have a School field sited within the grounds we would like Astro turf located in the KS2 playground, at the moment our children have no green space to play on. We would also like to install gym equipment along with a solar stop watch and chalk board, thus creating opportunities for use of the equipment during PE, breaks and lunch times. We would like a wooden Gazebo shelter with seating and also new vibrant playground markings. As our children only have access to one football net at the moment we would like to install another goal and mark out a football pitch. We want to encourage the children to be active at playtimes and enjoy being outside and the benefit it brings.
