Salt Lake City native Amy Coria attended East High and graduated from Highland High School. One day, someone came to her high school class to talk about SLCCs PACE program, and she asked for an application.
She completed a medical assistant program in high school and started at SLCC in Fall 2019, where she now serves as a Student Senator. Amy is working on her associate's degree in business administration and management, with plans to transfer to a university to earn a bachelor's degree. She works full time as a medical assistant while studying for her future career.
Money is tight at her house where her father runs a towing business. Amys goal is to be a leader in industry--possibly real estate--to repay her parents for helping her when they can. She also wants to be an example to her four younger siblings.
"I've known my whole life that college is the only way to get out of our financial situation. I'm grateful for PACE--they helped me and didn't give up on me. I feel so proud of myself for everything I have done."
