2023 marks Edinburgh Women's Aid's 50th Anniversary

We are planning a series of year-long events to mark 50 years of providing support for tens of thousands of women and their children who have experience of domestic abuse.

Events planned throughout the year will highlight and pay tribute to those who have provided support for women and their families over the past five decades, with everything from giving them a safe place to stay in a refuge, to specialist housing support, legal advice and help securing employment.

Get Involved with #EWAChallenge50

If you'd like to help support the continuation of our work, why not get involved by signing up to our Challenge 50 fundraiser? Our aim is to raise an additional £50,000 this year, and wed love you to join us! You can raise money in any way you like; individually, as a group or with your organisation, around the theme of the number 50. Here are some examples to get your started:

Collect 50p coins throughout the year and donate them to EWA

Have an office dress down day and collect donations for EWA

Bake and sell 50 cakes at your place of work

Write 50 letters to 50 women you admire

Ask 50 friends to donate £5.00 - social media is great for this

Challenge yourself to complete 50 squats a day for 50 days

Host a quiz night with friends or work colleagues

Complete a sponsored 50k cycle or run.
