Story
Dr Tosh our Medial Director has stayed true to his promise of embracing the rainbow by dying his hair after raising more than £2,000 and earlier this week he underwent the transformation.
During their breaks one of our Nursing Assistant Sue, a former hairdresser, bleached Dr Toshs hair before Nursing Assistant Lee added the colours. Dr Tosh also committed to wearing a pair of bespoke rainbow scrubs, kindly donated by The Dressmaker.
Donations are still being accepted for Dr Toshs challenge if you would like to support him.
**UPDATE**
We have been overwhelmed with the support for Dr Tosh to dye his hair and we have almost reached our target in less than 12 hours, so we have increased the target to £2,000 and as well as dying his hair Dr Tosh will take on more rainbow themed challenges at Fair Havens.
Rainbows have become the symbol of hope during the Coronavirus pandemic. If the target is reached, Dr Tosh will be filmed having his hair sprayed by members of the Care Team at Fair Havens during their break.
Dr Tosh says, "I've spent many years cultivating my fine head of white hair which I'm recognised for, so naturally the Care Team chose this challenge because they knew that I'd feel a bit silly having to conduct consultations and interviews with a multicoloured barnet."
"On a serious note, because we see every day the difference good hospice care can make to the experience of someone living with a complex or incurable condition, the Care Team and I wanted to do our bit towards the fundraising efforts to ensure that we can be here for the patients who will need us in the coming weeks and months."
