Story
Anthony Christopher Jacko (1985 2022) was the cherished son of Dr Elizabeth and Paul Jacko, loving brother to Thomas, Jakub and Chris, and dedicated partner to Alana Dorris.
Always curious as to how the universe worked, Anthony decided from a young age that he would focus his academic future in the sciences, pursuing his passion for Physics.
He completed a BSc (Hons1) in 2006 and PhD in Physics in 2012 at UQ. He joined the Department of Physics in 2005 as a tutor and spent the rest of his career educating others. Anthony published papers, presented at international conferences, and received awards and scholarships. He was respected and admired by all - always going out of his way to share his passion and knowledge.
His friends and family are establishing the Dr Anthony Jacko Memorial Prize Endowment to honour his life by supporting students who excel in Physics at UQ. Donations to this endowment will help to fund this memorial prize in perpetuity, keeping Anthony's legacy alive.
