Over 1 in 3 households in Scotland are in fuel poverty. Energy prices have trebled since 2020 plunging far too many households into the terrible position of having to choose to heat their homes or feed their families or to wash or clean. It isn't right and it isn't fair. Those struggling the most will receive less than those on much higher incomes, in more efficient properties with lower running costs. We will work through housing associations, local and national charities to reach as many as we can. This will support the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people. It will ultimately save lives.
