Every 2 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with diabetes. We know that diabetes is a relentless and devastating condition. Coronavirus is an emergency health crisis like no other and touches every part of our lives, and the lives of the communities we work with. There are 4.8 million people with Diabetes in the UK who are at high risk of serious complications resulting from Coronavirus. Many are feeling vulnerable and scared right now. They urgently need our support.
Many of us are isolated at home trying to find ways we can support the communities we belong to. That's where the Diabetes UK 2 Minute Challenge comes in.
1. You choose your 2 minute challenge, whether you attempt to solve a Rubix cube, hold a plank or empty the dishwasher, its up to you as long as its a challenge.
2. Film yourself or snap a photo of you taking part.
3. Share on social media with family and friends using the hashtag #DiabetesUK2MinuteChallenge
4. Donate here or set up your own fundraising page using the links on this page and help us continue to support people living with diabetes in these challenging times.
People with diabetes need us to be there now more than ever. In the past two weeks, we have answered record numbers of calls coming into our helpline, looking for help, guidance and information. Your support enables us to keep doing this, even as demand continues to grow.
Your support enables us to keep helping those who need us, and keep our information current and up-to-date at this time. Record numbers of people are calling our helpline, accessing our website and using our online forum. But we'll need to do even more in the coming weeks and months.
You may be worried and anxious through these strange and trying times. We want you to know that we are there for you and your loved ones. Thank you for being there for us.
