After a successful planning application to convert the former PUB, The York, to a Masjid, now called Masjid Sulayman Bin Dawūd, the first major renovation works to physically change the site to a Masjid have started.
We wish to raise £125,000 for the first phase of the works, as soon as possible.
The first phase of the works will focus on renovating the rear hall of the site and surrounding facilities so Salāh can be initiated, as soon as possible. The later phases will focus on all-out refurbishment and renovation of the remaining site.
Phase 1 will include:
New Wudhu and toilet facilities adjacent to the rear hall. Costing ~ £15,000
Full renovation of the rear hall and associated areas costing £80,000
- Aluminium Windows @ £20,000
- Doors and carpentry @ £10,000
- Heating @ £10,000
- Insulation @ 10,000
- Plastering and Decoration @ £10,000
- Carpet £20,000
Installation of a new stairway for access to rear fisrt floor space @ £5,000
Renovation of the rear entrance and additional prayer room @ £10,000
Repairing damaged tarmac and painting the entire car park @ £15,000
