The Lebenshilfe tournament provides a rare opportunity for the team to take part in an international tournament together with teams from Germany, Norway, France and Belgium. The tournament itself is all about fostering inclusion, understanding and cooperation and is a great opportunity for teams from across Europe to come together to develop this ethos. For some members of the team, it also represents an opportunity for travel abroad that may otherwise not be so readily open to them.
Claire Whetstone of Enfield Children & Young Persons Services said "For team members it is an opportunity to experience a different culture and get to know people from Enfield's twin town in Germany. The team are welcomed wholeheartedly into the local community and can take part in local festivals together with their European team mates. Our team has built a relationship with Lebenshilfe in Germany over 8 years and this is something we want to maintain in the future to keep these strong ties to European neighbours"
