The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileEvery year, we organise a fundraiser that aims to test, excite and challenge our intrepid supporters, but also generate a sense of community and comradery, being all together in one place at one time. For a number of years, we've been up mountains and wearing out walking boots, covering many miles, joining together in steps, raising funds collectively.
For 2023, we're changing it up and giving our fantastic fundraisers a different sight to see! So, we're calling for bravery, a sense of adventure and a willingness to head for heights - it's DSUK's FIRST EVER Awesome Abseil, kindly sponsored by Roofdec!
LONDON: Sunday 15th October - The ArcelorMittal Orbit in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a huge 262 ft high and has views stretching 32km on a clear day. It's the UK's tallest sculpture! You'll dangle in free space, 80 metres above the ground. It'll be an experience you'll never forget.
LIVERPOOL: Saturday 16th September - Taking place at the legendary Anfield Stadium, the home of Liverpool Football Club, this might be a shorter abseil at 30m tall, but a huge challenge all the same, at a hugely iconic venue! You'll get free LFC museum entry on the day too!
Dravet Syndrome is a rare, life-long and life-limiting neurological condition, affecting one in every 15,000 people in the UK. As well as severe, difficult-to-control seizures, Dravet Syndrome encompasses intellectual disability and a spectrum of associated conditions (known as comorbidities), which may include autism, ADHD, behaviours that challenge and difficulties with speech, mobility, feeding and sleep. Every child or adult with Dravet Syndrome is different, with some affected more severely than others, or with a different emphasis across symptoms and comorbidities. But for all, the condition is complex and can be highly unpredictable.
Dravet Syndrome UK is the only UK organisation dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Dravet Syndrome. Our mission is to bring hope to families living with Dravet Syndrome through support, education and medical research. You can find out more about our work by visiting our website.
By donating, you're not only spurring our awesome abseilers on as they conquer their fears, you're helping us to support all families affected by Dravet Syndrome. Each year we need to raise over £320,000 to keep providing our much-needed services. We couldn't do this without the generous support of our incredible community. Thank you so very much for donating to Dravet Syndrome UK today.
