Story
On Friday 29 January the Huddersfield Town Foundation are hosting #WearBlue day, this is an annual day in our calendar that encourages everyone to join in and wear something blue, supporters could also bake something blue, decorate their house and/or office for the day or even run a blue-themed quiz with family and friends.
The biggest challenge for the day will go to Club legend Andy Booth who has been challenged to sit on as many seats as possible at The John Smiths Stadium and we are asking for your help to keep him going throughout the day.
The more donations received the more seats he will have to sit in!
For those of you that know Boothy you will be aware that his knees gave up well before he even retired from football! To give it some context Alan Shearer and Robbie Savage took on the challenge in 2014 to sit in 90,000 seats at Wembley, it took them five days! Boothy has around eight hours to get through as many seats as possible.
The donations will be used to help run community initiatives throughout Kirklees
£5 will feed a child a healthy breakfast for three weeks at an Early Kick Off breakfast Club
£10 will allow the Foundation to deliver a walking group for individuals with disabilities
£30 will provide an hour of mentoring for a young person by one of the Foundations qualified coaches
£50 subsidises a life changing experience on NCS programme for a teen who may be affected by financial hardship
£100 will allow the Foundation to deliver four Sporting Memory group activity sessions for older adults to reduce loneliness and social isolation
The impact of your support is invaluable and will allow us to make a difference to the lives of people in our local community.
