Story
Join us on Saturday 25 March along the Lancaster Canal to raise money to support older people across Lancashire.
Age UK Lancashire help and support people who are vulnerable and offer advice for those who need it most. We offer various services across the region which may help someone local to you.
Our Hospital Aftercare Service team engage with those who are being discharged from hospital and will ensure they have everything they need to settle and feel comfortable. We may help with the shopping, some light housekeeping and referrals to other local services. We will also ensure there are no safeguarding issues. Our Community Engagement team work with external agencies to provide the support and information local communities need to stay safe and well. We can help refer people to the right people and build confidence in the community. Our footcare teams help those who need basic foot care treatment, ensuring the patient can still enjoy their everyday activities. For those who need support and advice, our teams are at hand on the phone to answer any questions you may have, this may be financial support, housing support, or information for carers.
But, many of our services are underfunded, meaning we have to source the income ourselves. Without the support from the public many of our services wouldn't be available and those who need us would suffer.
By taking part in the canoe challenge you will be making a difference to our clients. The money you raise will go directly into our services which need it most so that we can continue to safeguard our older people.
