The Choir with No Name Brighton is a choir involving homeless and marginalised people who sing uplifting pop songs, rehearse weekly and sit down for a healthy, hot meal afterwards, cooked by amazing volunteers.
The reasons why someone may become homeless, and the problems they face once they are in that position, are about a lot more than just a lack of housing. Our choir members face challenges that range from mental health problems, to relationship breakdown and bereavement, to drug or alcohol addiction. The Choir with No Name Brighton believes that singing together can lift you from those circumstances and make you feel good. It builds confidence, skills and lasting, genuine friendships. It restores a sense of pride and self-belief that may have been lost. It becomes a family where a conventional one may not exist.
The CWNN Brighton choir community provides the support our members need to build up resilience and confidence to move on from homelessness, as well as a chance to leave their troubles at the door and have fun. And nothings more fun than singing Bohemian Rhapsody at the top of your voice!
The Choir with No Name is a UK registered charity who run CWNN Brighton in partnership with BHT Sussex. Costs of the choir are shared equally between the two organisations, so all donations received to this campaign page will be split 50/50 between both charities, and will support the annual running costs of the choir.
