Story
Dormers Wells High School purchased 50 Chromebooks at a cost of £12000. These were deployed to support students in circumstances where they did not have access to a computer to support their learning. These devices have allowed students across the school population to access lessons, work collaboratively with their peers, and get feedback from their teachers. These chromebooks have helped some of our most vulnerable learners to keep learning and keep making progress.
When compared to the rest of the UK, the community in which we are based has the second highest number of furloughed workers (39.4%) as a proportion of the employed population. The ongoing impact of this on our young people cannot be underestimated. We want to raise a further £12000 to purchase another 50 chromebooks, and a number of 4G dongles to support students living in uncertain circumstances.
