The mission of Beta Theta Pi is to develop men of principle for a principled life. In order to fulfill this mission, Beta Theta Pi has adopted certain core values, one of which is integrity. The value of integrity is crucial as it calls for all Betas to preserve their character by doing what is morally right and demanding the same from their brothers. It is no doubt a moral imperative to provide support for those facing serious health challenges and the many obstacles they face that accompany their condition. Therefore, the brothers of the Eta Pi chapter of Beta Theta Pi at American University are excited to partner this semester with Hopecam (https://www.hopecam.org/).
Hopecam is a charitable organization based in the DMV area near American University and its mission is to overcome the social isolation experienced by children in treatment for cancer. Beta Theta Pi is pleased to support Hopecams unique efforts to use technology to help children with cancer connect with friends and classmates in order to receive support as they go through cancer treatment, easing their anxiety and loneliness during this very difficult time. To support Hopecams work, we have set up a Race for A Reason event with Hopecam to raise funds to be used toward the purchase of cameras which are provided to the children to enable their virtual connections. We hope that you will check out the Hopecam website - (https://www.hopecam.org) - to learn more about their work and consider supporting the Brothers of the Eta Pi chapter of Beta Theta Pi in support of this important cause.
