The 37th Belvedere College SJ Annual Sleep-Out takes place in 2020. Normally 60 students spend 3 days and 2 nights sleeping out at the GPO on O'Connell St to raise much needed funds in aid of three very deserving charities working to combat homelessness; Focus Ireland (https://www.focusireland.ie), Peter McVerry Trust (https://pmvtrust.ie) and Home Again (https://www.homeagain.ie). We are always grateful for the support of Belvedere past pupils who join us for their own sleep out at the Bank of Ireland on College Green.

Due to Covid-19, this year for the first time, students will be unable to sleepout on O'Connell St and instead they will take on the challenge in their own back gardens. We have managed to increase the number of students taking part to 100 and the students have already slept out on Sat Dec 12th and Sat Dec 19th creating awareness about the ongoing issue of homelessness in Ireland and how our three charity partners are working to combat this issue

In the spirit of Christmas we're asking you to be as generous and supportive of the cause by donating whatever you can.

The annual Sleep-out is always a real success and a familiar sight for passers-by on Dublin's main street. Unfortunately due to rising Covid numbers we cannot be on the streets this year to shake our buckets either but we will be just as visible online. For our street collections (which were unfortunately cancelled due to Covid) we have partnered with an innovative Irish company called Strike to use their ground breaking tap or 'strike' to donate technology. Our Sleep Out was to be their first major street campaign rolling out this exciting new technology and we are so disappointed that we cannot provide this opportunity. That said, we did have a very successful use of the technology at another recent school fundraiser. However, to overcome the challenge of no street collections Strike have been just as creative as we had to be and they came up with a donation link just like the tap / strike facility on the bucket.
