Story
BASKET BRIGADE IS 21 years young!
We are Basket Brigade Notts; a 100% Volunteer run project, led by local social enterprise, Indigo Brave and supported by Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.
This year we are 21 years old! We have grown hugely since our first ever Basket Brigade in The Millennium Centre, St Ann’s. But we are still doing the same magic.
Each year we collect nominations from the community, for people who are in crisis or perhaps just need a bit of extra love this Festive Season. We then collect gifts, food and festive treats, from local businesses and individuals and we wrap and pack like mad. Then we personally deliver a Festive Surprise - a beautiful luxury hamper, including personally selected gifts for each member of the family. With absolutely no paid staff, last year we packed and delivered over 255 luxury hampers!
This year we want to 're-energise' after lockdown, and have a bold plan;
21 New Businesses donating goods
21 New Volunteers, committed to helping their community
There is so much that makes Notts Basket Brigade special, but some of it is the love and care which goes in to the wrapping with plenty of bows, and the hand written card inside which reads;
“Someone in your community has nominated you for a bit of extra love this Festive Season. Please enjoy it - you are worth it! Do look after yourself and perhaps you will do this for someone else some day. Lots of Love, The Basket Brigade”.
The stunning hampers are a total surprise, completely anonymous and deliver a lot more than the gifts and food in the box! They are heartfelt gifts of hope and love, showing people that they are seen and cared for by their community; loved and appreciated. Please Join Us! December 6th and 7th 2024. Our packing days have become an essential part of many families annual Festivities. Sign up via email or the facebook page. Or you can help by adding Gift Aid and donating.

Each December volunteers come together to transform gathered goods, raised funds and items donated from local companies into baskets of food, presents and luxury items for families and individuals in need at Christmas.
They then deliver these baskets to the local community members that have been nominated throughout the year.
Hundreds of people will receive a basket, with a personalised gift and a 'pass it on' message from the community.
People have said it has given them hope to carry on!
Help to spread some very special festive cheer and real HOPE and LOVE in the true spirit of Christmas by making a donation or getting involved.
This year 'packing day' is on Friday 6th December and Saturday 7th December at The Iona School, Sneinton, Notts. For further information and to sign up visit the Facebook page @basketbrigadenottingham
