B&Q and Shelter have been working together since 2017, with a shared belief that everyone deserves a safe and secure home. Colleagues and customers have raised an incredible £2 million since the start of our partnership.
Our 2021 campaign involves both store and virtual fundraising, as well as colleagues running in half-marathons and marathons across Great Britain and Ireland. Colleagues will also be taking part in Shelter's 'Raise Your Run' event; a virtual distance challenge throughout the month of September.
Money raised by colleagues in England and Scotland funds our DIY Skills Adviser Service in England, as well as essential frontline services in England and Scotland. Our DIY Skills Advisers support families and individuals with essential DIY and home improvement skills such as painting, wall papering and other key maintenance, helping people to feel safe and settled in the place they call home.
Shelter will make a donation to our partner charities in Wales and Northern Ireland equal to the amount raised in each country including any eligible Gift Aid claimed on the donations received by Shelter. Shelter will make a donation to our partner charity in the Republic of Ireland equal to the amount raised; however, donations made from the Republic of Ireland do not qualify for Gift Aid. Shelter are registered in England (Charity no. 263710) and Scotland (Charity no. SC002327). We partner with the following charities: In Wales, Shelter Cymru (Charity no. 515902). In Northern Ireland, Housing Rights (charity no. NIC 105735). In the Republic of Ireland, Focus Ireland (Charity no. CHY 7220).
Thank you for your continued support. It truly is life-changing.
