Can you help us?
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team needs to replace one of its stretchers and is reaching out to the community to help fund its purchase. The stretcher recently failed a routine safety test which prevents us from using it on crags or helicopter winches.
Stretchers are one of our most important pieces of equipment, capable of evacuating casualties in the most difficult of terrains, and in any weather. Unlike those used by other emergency services, mountain rescue stretchers are designed for use in remote areas and the hills and moorlands of the UK. They are light-weight and can be quickly dismantled and reassembled after being carried by team members. Have a look at the photographs to see how we use them on callouts.
Such versatility doesnt come cheap, and even with a generous subsidy from MREW we still need to raise £1800, plus a further £900 to fund the purchase of three casualty bags to keep our patients warm while they are on the stretcher.
Target £2700
Your generous donations will help us achieve our core mission which is to save life and alleviate stress by providing a volunteer-based search and rescue service in and around the Peak District.
