Bridport & West Sports Trust have owned and operated Bridport Leisure Centre since 1974 and during this time has become an important community hub, providing a wide range of recreational facilities and activities for the people of West Dorset. Our overall aim is to enhance the quality of life for the whole community.

We are a single site charitable trust, who operate as a strictly not for profit organisation, with any surplus bring put back in to improving the facilities for our members and visitors.

We offer a wide range of facilities and classes, that are aimed at all sectors of the community. Ranging from pre-natal classes, from toddlers to teens, a wide variety of fitness classes and classes aimed specifically at the elderly or infirm, not forgetting our fitness suite and swimming pool.

The Bridport Leisure Centre team are committed to promoting health and well-being to all sectors of the community. Our community focus goes much further, we also see ourselves as an essential community hub for people to meet, socialise and forge life long friendships.

Following an extremely challenging 2.5 years, Bridport Leisure Centre is continuing to recover from the effects of COVID-19 and continues to make many improvements to the facilities and experiences of its users.

The Swimming Pool, something that was campaigned for by the residents of Bridport - is approaching its 30th Birthday and is in need of a full regrout to its walls and floor.

These works are estimated to cost circa £30,000 and we hope to undertake the works in December this year, before the problem escalates further and cause further potential damage and an increased period of closure to rectify the problem.

The Swimming Pool is utilised by a wide range of users, and is home to the Bridport Swim School and Bridport Barracudas Swimming and Water Polo Clubs - and is also used by a number of other Clubs and Bookings.

We really hope that the generosity shown previously by the community can be replicated once again as we rally around our fantastic Community Asset.
