At Bromley Brighter Beginnings, we strongly believe that all children should have access to books. We include a book for each child in our Christmas In A Bag hampers and we also run the Book For Every Child campaign throughout the rest of the year. This gives every child a book, in every family we support, each time we work with them. It's an easy way for us to encourage reading, which we all know, can have a huge impact on future outcomes. And it's simply very rare for the families we work with to have books in the home.

We try to make sure that children have books that enable them to see themselves reflected, whether that's about ethnicity, disability, family set-up, faith or anything else related to a child's identity and lived experience. If you consider the average bookshop or school library, you'll realise that children can often go a very long time without recognising their own story in a book and we'd like to help rectify that.

By donating to this page, you will fund a range of diverse books to go into our Christmas In A Bag hampers and be distributed to the children we support throughout the year. We aim to buy these books from independent local booksellers where possible.
